Subsea Instruments & Sensor Platforms
The ANIK series battery packs are engineered for long-duration deployments in harsh underwater environments. Designed for reliability, safety, and smart integration, ANIK delivers high-performance lithium power to subsea instruments, vehicles, and infrastructure without compromise.
With options for 100 Wh, 500 Wh, and beyond, ANIK packs support flexible configurations for instrument clusters, AUVs, and hybrid energy systems. Integrated power path management allows simultaneous charging and discharging, enabling operation with renewable inputs like solar or tidal.
Each pack features onboard telemetry, allowing host systems to monitor charge status, health metrics, and usage trends. The service port and communication interface support system-level integration, remote diagnostics, and efficient energy planning.
Compact, rugged, and UN38.3 certified, ANIK is ready to support next-generation subsea energy needs, whether you’re building a scientific sensor array or a dynamic mobile platform.
Subsea Backup Power
For critical subsea operations, uninterrupted power is not a luxury , it’s a necessity. ANIK battery packs provide a compact, intelligent auxiliary power source for subsea machinery, enabling seamless failover when the primary power supply is disrupted.
The system charges directly from the host infrastructure, supporting charging voltages up to 70 VDC. With optional external step-down modules, ANIK can also interface with higher-voltage systems, including 400 V or more, making it adaptable to a wide range of industrial subsea platforms.
Once integrated, ANIK continuously manages its charging cycle while remaining ready to supply power the moment a fault is detected. This autonomous switchover ensures the continuous operation of essential systems, such as safety devices, monitoring units, valves, or control electronics, during outages.
Whether supporting high-value infrastructure or mission-critical sensors, ANIK adds resilience, reliability, and peace of mind to subsea power architectures.
ROV and AUV Power Management
In remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), power stability is mission-critical. ANIK battery packs provide a dependable backup power source that seamlessly integrates into onboard power systems. When installed on an ROV or AUV, the battery remains charged via the main power supply and automatically takes over in the event of a failure, preventing critical systems from shutting down mid-operation.
Beyond serving as a backup, ANIK acts as a dynamic power buffer. In subsea systems with long tether cables, sudden voltage drops are common. These drops can cause unpredictable system resets, data loss, or damage to sensitive electronics. With ANIK’s configurable power path and intelligent discharge control, it behaves like an intelligent capacitor bank, smoothing power delivery to ensure consistent system performance.
The ANIK system can also interface with external sensors and controllers over a service interface, enabling mission control to check battery health or remaining capacity in real time. This visibility is key for both piloted and autonomous missions, ensuring readiness and preventing mission failures caused by unexpected power issues.
Renewable-Powered Platforms
In marine and aquatic deployments where power infrastructure is limited or unavailable, ANIK battery packs offer a plug-and-play solution for adding intelligent rechargeable energy storage. Whether retrofitting a data buoy, upgrading an in-water sensor platform, or powering a remote environmental monitoring station, ANIK simplifies integration without requiring complex power electronics or external controllers.
The battery pack accepts a wide input range (5 V to 70 V), allowing direct connection to a variety of renewable sources such as solar panels, wind turbines, or hydro generators. ANIK intelligently manages power path conversion to safely and efficiently charge its internal lithium pack, ensuring long-term, unattended operation even under fluctuating energy inputs.
This makes ANIK ideal for remote systems where charging opportunities are intermittent or seasonally variable. Integration is equally simple on the control side. ANIK can be monitored and managed remotely, especially when paired with our LacusOrb smart buoys, enabling over-the-air power toggling, battery diagnostics, or predictive maintenance alerts through a unified dashboard. This level of system-wide coordination adds resilience and intelligence to off-grid platforms that were once passive.
Whether you’re building a new buoy or upgrading an existing field sensor, ANIK reduces the complexity of adding smart, rechargeable energy, while extending deployment lifespans and enabling remote control and insight.
