Defense & Maritime Security
Subsea edge-AI nodes, deployable buoys, and resilient depth-rated power for maritime domain awareness — process acoustic, sonar and video on the seabed and send decisions, not data.
The challenge
What makes it hard
Underwater surveillance needs to run unattended for long periods, make sense of acoustic, sonar and video locally, and report only what matters over scarce bandwidth — all on power that has to last and hardware that has to survive at depth. Recovering a node to recharge is rarely an option.
How RemoteCon fits
The approach
AVIN brings edge AI to the seabed: it classifies acoustic, sonar and video streams locally and transmits events and metadata rather than raw feeds, while recording the full picture to internal storage for later analysis. ANIK depth-rated packs give it resilient, rechargeable power, and deployable AI-buoy concepts extend the same processing to the surface. We keep the framing honest — some configurations are at concept stage — and work within applicable export controls.
- Decisions, not dataOn-board classification transmits events and metadata over scarce links.
- Autonomous & long-dwellUnattended operation with resilient, rechargeable power.
- Depth-rated hardwareCompute, storage and power built for the subsea environment.
- Deployable nodes & buoysEdge AI from the seabed to the surface.
Engaged with national defence research and naval systems groups on subsea AI nodes.

What goes in the water

AVIN Subsea Edge AI & Data Logger
AVIN is a subsea edge-AI computer and advanced data logger: a managed PoE sensor hub that records time-synchronised acoustic, video and sensor data to NVMe (up to 10 TB) and runs AI / ML at the edge. 2 / 4 / 8 Gigabit ports, depth-rated to 6000 m.

ANIK Subsea Battery Packs
Rechargeable subsea battery packs, 100 Wh to 1.8 kWh, that charge in place and report their own health — for seabed instruments, hydrophones, CTDs and moorings. Depth-rated to 6000 m.

LacusOrb Monitoring Buoy
LacusOrb is a self-powered, solar-charged monitoring buoy (150 mm and 300 mm) that streams real-time environmental data to the cloud over satellite or cellular, with a modular multi-sensor payload.
