LacusOrb Monitoring Buoy

Self-powered, cloud-connected monitoring.

LacusOrb is a series of autonomous, solar-powered monitoring buoys for long-term deployment in lakes, rivers, coastal zones, and aquaculture. Available in 150 mm and 300 mm sizes, both models operate off-grid on solar charging and an internal battery, transmitting real-time environmental data to the cloud via LTE, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, or satellite. Each unit is GPS-enabled and supports edge processing to minimize data transmission.

  • Self-powered operationRuns autonomously on solar, wind, or hybrid energy, with optional external power for shaded or harsh sites.
  • Modular sensor platformSwappable sensors for pH, salinity, turbidity, DO, nitrate, chlorine, algae, oil-in-water, and more.
  • Multi-network connectivityConnect via Iridium satellite, NB-IoT, LTE, or LoRa based on location and data needs.
  • Edge data processingAn embedded controller analyzes data on-board, reducing bandwidth and enabling event-based alerts.
  • Dashboard & two-way controlSecure custom dashboard with live data, GPS tracking, and bidirectional commands for remote configuration.
  • Built for the long haulMarine-grade housing, built-in self-cleaning to reduce fouling, and OTA firmware updates — no servicing required.
